If you are an entrepreneur just embarking on your idea, or if you have a new small company, the best place for you to start is your state’s requirements for forming a company. From there you will find a link for your states: base web site, Corporate Commission/Business Services web site, secretary of state web site, and small business information.

Most of the information you will need will be found on the Corporate Commission/Business Services site and/or the secretary of state site, depending on the state. If a state does not have a Corporate Commission/Business Services department then the information is on the Secretary of State web site. If the state does not have a site for the Secretary of State, then look at the Corporate Commission/Business Services site, or the related business link that is presented.
